Screen testing tools

Find the right screen test

Start with what you can see. Choose the closest symptom and we will point you to one focused test with clear limits.

This tool runs locally in your browser. Your marks, observations, and timing samples are not uploaded.

Each tool has its own workflow, result, and limitations.

Guided check

Dead Pixel Test

Inspect five solid colors, mark a fixed suspect point, and compare what remains visible.

Best for
A tiny dark, bright, or colored dot stays in one place
Takes
About 3-5 minutes
Limit
Visual guidance only; it cannot automatically detect a physical panel defect.
Start dead pixel test
Observation

Backlight Bleed Test

Compare black and near-black fields, then check whether bright areas change with viewing angle.

Best for
Edges or corners look bright in dark scenes
Takes
About 4-6 minutes
Limit
An observation only; it cannot measure luminance or assign a reliable severity score.
Start backlight test
Measurement

Refresh Rate Test

Measure foreground browser frame cadence for 10 seconds and review timing stability.

Best for
Motion feels less smooth than the display setting suggests
Takes
10 seconds plus setup
Limit
Estimates browser callback cadence; it does not certify the panel's hardware refresh rate.
Measure frame cadence
Optional attempt

Stuck Pixel Fixer

Try a bounded, movable color patch only after a test suggests a bright or colored stuck pixel.

Best for
A checked pixel stays bright or colored on black
Takes
10 or 20 minutes
Limit
An optional exercise with no guarantee; it cannot repair a dead pixel or OLED burn-in.
Check fixer eligibility

What browser tests can and cannot tell you

These tools make visual inspection and browser timing more repeatable. They do not turn a web page into diagnostic hardware.

  • Use consistent fields, steps, and timing to repeat an observation more carefully.
  • The browser cannot automatically see a physical pixel defect, dust, coating damage, or backlight leak.
  • No camera access or image upload is required for these tools.
  • Results are observations, not a certified diagnosis or warranty decision.
